"I am looking for ample opportunity to prove myself in IPL", KC

Mystery spinner KC Kariyappa of Karnataka has given a huge response to the opportunities he got himself in the IPL. Kariyappa has said that he will have to play more and more matches to prove you in the IPL.

KC Cariappa made his IPL debut in the 2015 IPL season. At that time, he was part of the Kolkata Knight Riders team.

Cariappa had a base price of 10 lakh but KKR had made a huge bid of Rs 2.4 crore for him. After this, they started discussing a lot.

Casey Cariappa took AB de Villiers' wicket in IPL debut

In fact, veterans like Robin Uthappa, Captain Gautam Gambhir and Jack Kallis were facing problems in front of the spinners and that is why Cariappa was brought into the team so that he could practice in the nets.

Sunil Narine got injured after his arrival in the team and he got a chance to debut. He took the wicket of veteran batsman AB de Villiers in his debut match.

However, since then, Cariappa did not get much opportunities.

In the 2016 season, he got a chance to play only 5 matches, in the 2017 season he was able to play four matches. Apart from this, he participated in only one match in the 2019 season.

At the same time, he remained unsold in the 2018 and 2020 seasons. Meanwhile, Kariyappa was also a part of the Punjab Kings team and is currently in the Rajasthan Royals team.

Casey Cariappa reacted to his IPL career in a special conversation with SportsKeeda. He said,

I did not get much opportunities in IPL. There was a lot of discussion when I was selected in 2015, but I did not get a chance to play more matches. ABD was my debut wicket but I did not play after that. I lost my place after the arrival of Sunil Narine. I also played only a few matches for Punjab. But as everyone says that the more matches you play, the more your confidence will increase.

Because during that time you have only a few balls to leave the impression of your batting and you have to play big shots from the first ball. I have spent time on the pitch many times as a Test batsman.

I bat in a test match bored and do not make runs, but here I spin the bat and enjoy batting and during this time sometimes you get runs, sometimes you are not able to make runs.

Pat Cummins also spoke highly of his first Indian tour. He said that I first came to India at the age of 18. In the 2011 Champions League, I participated for the New South Wales side.

From childhood you hear stories of playing cricket in India, which I like very much. During that time I played cricket against many veteran superstar players, which was a great experience for me.

The audience here is very big cricket fan, which is completely different from Australia.
