Important T20 series between India and South Africa Cancelled

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to cancel India's T20 series against South Africa, which was called a build-up for both teams for the ICC T20 World Cup to be held in October in India.

The board has seen a temporary window to resume the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League. The IPL was suspended midway due to Corona cases. 

The BCCI had earlier admitted that it would incur a loss of Rs 2500 crore if the tournament is canceled.

According to a report, BCCI sources say that there cannot be a (T20) series and there can be no better preparation for the T20 World Cup than the IPL. 

The T20 World Cup will be a week or 10 days after the IPL, so the series against South Africa can be played later. 

There is also a possibility that when the Indian team goes to play South Africa early next year, then Team India can play some extra matches. 

There is speculation that a two-Test series between India and New Zealand will also be shifted in view of the final time dates of the T20 World Cup.

In view of the situation of Corona virus in India, the ICC has to take a decision on the T20 World Cup to be held in India. 

The ICC meeting is to be held on June 1. In such a situation, a decision can be taken. However, BCCI will try its best not to dispose of their hosting rights. 

All efforts will be made by the BCCI to organize the tournament inside India.
